I'll be making your clothing
Hi, I'm Bronwyn. I've loved sewing for as long as I can remember, creating practical, comfortable clothing that works with me, not against me. It all started with a few versatile linen pieces that fit effortlessly into my life—styles that moved with my body, felt comfortable, and paired easily together.
What began as a simple capsule collection grew into a complete range of thoughtful, timeless clothing. My focus has always been on creating garments with purpose—slow, sustainable fashion made to last. Each piece is designed to be lived in, loved, and worn through all seasons.
In 2019, I opened the doors to a one-day pop-up shop, just to share what I’d been making. To my surprise, that single day sparked an ongoing journey. The positive conversations and connections inspired me to keep going, and now The Handmade Closet is so much more than just another clothing business it has grown into a space where people come together to appreciate the shift to slow, purposeful clothing. The clothing I make is invited into wardrobes all around the world. It is clothing that our customers know is worth the 4-7 week making time. The anticipation of the wait time is all part of the experience and an added value.
Today, I’m proud to have an opportunity to continue creating garments for people who value quality, practicality, and thoughtful design. Clothing that delivers what it promises. Whether you visit me in the studio shop or connect from afar via video call or email or message, I hope you find the clothing you buy from me feels just right for you. That is becomes clothing you return to again and again to live in, made to last, and made with love. My hope is that these items become the loved favourites, we don't want to ever wear out.

A thoughtfully curated selection of 100% pure flax linen fabrics are ethically and sustainably sourced for you to choose from. Knowing that your clothing is made when ordered by myself and a small local sewing team means your clothes shopping experience is more personal. Each garment, every stitch is done with intention, care and made to last. In fact the fabric will likely wear out before they fall apart at the seams.
