Letting go, Aligning More, Offering Alternatives

The 2025 journey for The Handmade Closet has been deeply connected to my personal re-alignment program!  Not that I started the year with that idea in mind.  It is however, how the year unfolded.  

The mission this year was to be grounded in reconnection with the why, to pair back to basics, assess the 'how to' of the past and and to re-energise.  A journey more deeply intentioned in understanding The Handmade Closet, from the view point of the lessons learned through experience   The question that continually appeared in my journal writing, was "what if...."  a question that commanded a settling.  A step back in time to begin again. Gathering together relections of the old and to springboard to make new.  

Accepting the changes and taking time, actually.... it was more like giving time permission, for acceptance to come.  How could less represent more!  Could "More" not necessarily align with success.  Understanding how less... less rush, and less doing of all the things  could align with the more important "why".  Letting go of the traditional norms attached to business success, and being happier to do me.  

What emerged can only be described as a changing of the tide.

The "Whatever Pants" and "Double Down Vest" were in the first tide change, followed by the "Not Everyday skirt" and "Not Everyday Shift" dress mid-year, rounding off the year was the "Listen Vest".  Before the year came to an end, the "Over It All" pinafore dress joined the party and the "Where have you been" (all my life) top appeared. 

The names came easily and in review are an apt representation of what 2025 has been. 

To summarise, an Over It All, Whatever attitude led to a strengthening or Doubling Down approach to the mission of NOT being every day!  Listening and accepting the Where have you been all my life thoughts, ideals and dreams.  

What 2025 became is best represented in  what will be known as The Changing Tides collection.  A refreshed wave of designs and fabric choices, and a greater alignment to the values we stand proudly on.  Ethical, conscious, considered, bespoke linen clothing made to order, expressly to help women feel fabulous in their clothing every day! And.... a conversation of self expression.

It's been a good year and 2026 is a fresh and exciting new prospect.
