Classic and elegant the Journey Linen coat dress conveys a touch of vintage romance. A connection with times past and a reminder to approach life slowly and gently. Thoughtfully designed to serve you for many years.

What began as a celebration design, for the first anniversary of the Handmade Closet, the Journey linen coat dress is the reality of a long held dream of mine to create a vintage inspired coat that could also serve as a dress.

'Journey' has a classic box pleated skirt, a slightly above the waist bodice line, gathered shoulder with long sleeves finished with a ruffle (or not) two generous in-seam pockets and a long flowing silhouette. The button up front gives you the versatility to decide how you'd like 'Journey' to serve you, on any given day or season. You'll find the inside is as beautiful as the outside.

Choose your finish preferences. Keep it Simple or select "Surprise Me" to give me permission to add some extra creative love. Contrast fabric trims or buttons, hand stitched details whatever speaks to me at the time of making your Journey coat dress.

Wear as an outer layer to see you through all of the cooler seasons in a heavy weight linen - Mushroom or Toast. Choose from the all purpose linen range to wear as a dress with the option to add layers under for mild winter days or mid seasons.

'Journey' makes a great travel wardrobe addition. Guaranteed to age gracefully with wear year after year.

During the design process I dreamt that each journey coat/dress would one day speak of the stories of the many adventures you might take it on. Embellished with hand stitched patches when the fabric wears thin; visible mending where a rip once appeared; an embroidered detail that harks to a time past or to cover a memorable stain or mark.

All Journey Linen Coat dresses are individually made to order by Bronwyn in Dayboro Queensland Australia. Please send your sizing details with your order or book a consultation with me for the best possible fit. Allow 3-6 weeks for delivery.

After your order is received it is allocated to the next available production space at The Stitchery. Production times vary. It will be worth the wait! You will be notified as the order starts being made, so you can let the anticipation build. Soon after that notification, and once the sewing is completed, you will receive a shipping or pick up notification.

Please allow approximately 6-8 weeks for this process to take place.

Shipping is by Australia Post.

International Shipping is available. The Handmade Closet is not responsible for any taxes or imports into your resident country.
